Jurassic World Dominion 2022 you will Enjoy it but it suffers from Locust Problem

 

Hello all the readers before we just start I wanted to warn you all about the spoilers this article may have. If you are okay with some spoilers, here and there then stay tuned otherwise you can skip this article.

Last week was my holiday week, and thought of watching the much awaited movie of 2022 that is Jurassic World Dominion. A lot of Nostalgia around this movie. May be I have watched the Jurassic Park and Lost World Jurassic park an Umpteen number of times but it still give me chills.

However, the magic was lost as we saw movies in this franchise were thrown on us without much quality content back to back. Jurassic World made some promise but the actual downfall with regards to quality of the content started after with this. The Graph can be seen as a downward trend.

Also, the reviews of general public and critics both disappointed me and the urge to see this movie actually subsided. However, last week I had holidays and wanted to watch it somehow and as some motivation there was one Multiplex opened near my locality to be precise hardly a kilometer away. I checked for ticket prize it was hardly 160Rs (Approx 2 dollars) for 2D. Now there was no reason to not watch this movie so without giving a second thought I bought the tickets and went to the Cinema hall. 

I enjoyed it and if you are Jurassic Park fan and have some nostalgic connections or if you imagine dinosaurs around you when you are in a park then definitely there are some dino action from start and you will enjoy it. I will put down some more reasons I liked it in below pointers and amidst all the negative review this might help you to decide whether you should watch the movie in Theatres or give it a pass and watch the OTT version:

1. The trio from original movie coming together: Yes this was one of the best, seeing them together and the real Jurassic theme playing in the back ground.

2. The Malta Dinosaur chase scenes was perfect to give you some excitement.

3. Newly Introduced Dinosaurs: All the new Dinosaurs and the Dinosaurs from the first part gets re introduced. I will like to name them: Therizinosaurus, Pyro Raptor, Giganotosaurus, Atrociraptor, Dilophosaurus, Quetzalcoatlus and few more.

5. The Cinematography especially 

•         Claire trying to escape the Therizinosaurus. 
•         First show off between the Giganotosaurus and T-rex in Biosyn sanctuary.
•         Malta Raptor Chase Scene.
•         Pyroraptor attacking Kayla and Owen

6. The main Villain getting killed at the end in the same way Nedry gets killed was satisfying even though the scene was not half brilliant that we saw in first Jurassic Park movie.

However,  said all these there were underwhelming aspect too of the movie:

As usual there was no stake with the lead good characters even if they steal the food of a T-rex from just under its nose all it will do is stand stare down, roar and that will buy some time for the lead characters to run for their life, but the villain & Side characters will be munched on in no time. I hate those scenes when two Dinos fight with each other and the people in the middle are not even scratched. 

The last but not the least the Locust problem, how bad this plot was I was imagining what if the movie didn't had this plot twist at all then this movie would have neen 10 to 20% more good. The three characters were waisted like anything I would have liked them discussing & working on the problems of Human-Dino co existence or some genetically modified dinosaurs who will be a threat to Mankind, anything but not discussing and brainstorming about a Locust problem. I know scientifically it will be problem but the plot was so bad an unrelatable that no body cared. I wanted a Directors cut with the Locust plot completely removed from the movie and then I am very much sure that we will enjoy the movie much better.

That's it Folks overall this movie is enjoyable to some extent. Watching it at a less expensive theatre and that too in 2D will enhance your movie watching experience. See you all soon in the next movie review.
